The WRPA recently hosted a networking event with a Hawaiian twist. Hosted within our Affinity Partner Tiger Tiger, Cardiff’s themed room ‘Kapuloa’, the networking event saw regional players mix with businesses from around the South Wales region to expand their contacts and gain knowledge of industries which they may wish to enter after their playing careers unfortunately end.

The night saw cocktail masterclasses take place, staring the Welsh Sevens Chris Knight, as well as industries such as BPU, ITV, Ninefeettall, the University of South Wales, Uprise Marketing, The Open University and many more…

Huw Jones from NineFeetTall was the proud winner of our business card draw – winning a signed RWC ball by the Wales team presented by one of the WRPA’s player executives Jonathan Spratt.

The networking event saw players gain invaluable insights into areas of interest for their post-rugby careers. These connections link to our Player Development Programme, creating work experience type opportunities to allow players to test drive careers enabling planning into their future.

Finally, a huge thank you to Absolute Performance and Tiger Tiger for sponsoring the event and allowing for such an invaluable experience to happen.
