'Rugby Works' Networking Event
On 23rd October, the WRPA held its second annual ‘Rugby Works’ networking Event at Entrecote Cardiff Bay.
The event formed part of the WRPA’s Player Development Programme –designed to provide WRPA members from across Wales’ four regional teams with support and guidance for Personal and Professional Development.
The main aim of the event was to give players an opportunity to mix in an informal business environment and develop contacts while investigating various career paths which will be open to them after rugby .
A wide range of businesses attended the evening from a number of different industries including Education, Finance, Law, Sport, Recruitment, Media and many more.
Speaking after the event, WRPA Player Development Manager Zoe Eaton commented;
“I’d like to thank all the guests who came along to the networking event. We had some great companies in attendance from FTSE 100’s and SME’s to Colleges and Universities.
“The support currently on offer to the players is evident and networking events such as these are a great opportunity for the players to interact with business people. These events not only give the players the opportunity to ask questions about a particular industry or business but also allows them to start building relationships with the potential for gaining future internships and mentoring opportunities in preparation for their lives after rugby.”
Our thanks go to Entrecote for hosting the evening and for providing the delicious canapés and refreshments.
The WRPA are looking forward to hosting similar events in the future.
